Want to help prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)? Take the ITS-SIDS in-person training!
The ITS-SIDS training is a required course for anyone who cares for infants 12 months or younger in North Carolina. This in-person training provides hands-on learning and direct interaction with certified trainers, helping participants understand the proper techniques for creating a safe sleeping environment for babies and how to reduce the risk of SIDS, which is a leading cause of infant mortality.

What’s Included:
In addition to learning about SIDS, participants will receive the information they need to create a safe sleep policy for their childcare setting. The training includes updated research about SIDS and access to local health and safety resources.
Why Choose In-Person Training?
The in-person format allows for real-time demonstrations, hands-on practice with infant positioning and placement, and direct Q&A with certified ITS-SIDS trainers. This interactive environment ensures you can ask questions specific to your childcare setting and receive immediate feedback.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this 2-hour training, participants will be able to:
- Define SIDS and understand current research
- Identify external stressors and risk factors associated with SIDS
- List the components of North Carolina childcare rules for a safe sleep policy
